Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.Psalm 103 v1
Meeting on 2 November 2019 at Forest Room, Gracious St from 9.30am till 12pm.
The COGS CREATIVE WRITERS group have been going for quite a few years and our focus is now on expanding the group and its ministry. As part of this goal, we are planning to lead a workshop in November, details as above.
Writing can be for fun, for therapy, for worship and prayer, for promoting awareness of social issues, for recounting, for memoir, for expressing our wonder, pain, joys and hopes. While we are all poets in the CCW, we don’t confine our work to stanzas and rhythms; we write letters, prayers, speeches and prose amongst other genres.
‘I could never write like you!’ we hear sometimes. Well it’s like saying, ‘I can’t sing’. Everyone can sing something, given some help. So, resist the temptation to say, ‘I couldn’t’, and consider joining us on 2 November. Who knows where it could take you! The session will take the form of some informal teaching, ideas and prompts, some collaborative writing, some group work and some independent expression with guidance.
Keep the date free, and we’ll let you know more details in the Autumn.
