All We Can. Methodist Relief & Development Fund.
We have had a great first year supporting All We Can as a Partner Church. Finding out about the village of Mulukwa in Malawi to gain support and training to build solar irrigation systems ensuring a reliable supply of water for their crops has been very interesting. They also train farmers in modern farming techniques, giving them a variety of seeds, which are both drought resistant and rich in nutritional value.
This will bring better harvests with fewer failed crops due to lack of water. It also means that the children will be able to attend school on a regular basis as the families can afford the fees as well as feeding their children. With this support families like Chikumbutso and Monica and their children have been able to plant a range of vegetables, including onions, cabbages, tomatoes and garlic. She hopes to earn around 600,000 Malawian Kwacha (approx. £600) once she takes them to market.
