Scotton Churches Together

Scotton Churches Together continue with the monthly village coffee mornings and during Lent we arranged a soup lunch at chapel which over 20 people attended. Then on Good Friday we walked from the village hall to St Thomas’ with Revs. Ann and Camilla, who carried the cross and did various appropriate readings along the route.  After a short service at church we went to chapel for refreshments, obviously hot cross buns!!.

One of our new members suggested having a cross outside  chapel for the duration of Lent and then on Easter Sunday we decorated the cross with flowers in celebration of the risen Lord.  We also had a wooden cross in chapel and each week during Lent we added symbols to the cross. Most of our members were able to take part  during the course of Lent.

Our annual Hymnathon was held recently and was a great success, with a good attendance.  Catherine from Action for Children came along and gave a presentation on the work of Action for Children and in particular the work they are involved in at Linton-on-Ouse.  A total of £187.20  was raised for the project.

We  now look forward to our annual coffee morning  on Saturday 17 June from 10am to 12noon and also Strawberry Tea on Sunday 9 July in the afternoon.
